Releasing from the jig set to my version of Pipeline and I sped it up as its pretty boring but fun to mess around with the video program (haha)

If you want to build a your own chopper with a chopper kit you need to have a look at your position on the bike. You will sit close to the ground, leaning backwards and with your arms straight forward.

You need to have the right frame to get into this position. There are two kinds of frames used in choppers: hardtail frames and softail frames. A hard-tail frame is a solid frame with no rear wheel suspension system. Hard-tails have the straight lines that chopper fans love, but they are back killers on long journeys.

Softail frames have suspension at the rear bottom of the frame. This suspension divides the frame into two major pieces. The front part of the frame is where the engine, transmission, fork and handlebars are attached. The rear section is where the rear wheel is bolted on. The two parts are connected together using bolts, brackets, spacers and off course the suspension.

At the front end of the frame is where you mount the fork assembly. The fork assembly is the part of the bike that connects the front tire and handlebars to the frame. The fork assembly also includes the front wheel suspension system, which either uses springs or hydraulics. A springer fork gives a classic look to your own build chopper.

At the rear end of the frame is where the rear wheel is attached. The rear end of the frame is, most of the time, available in different wide depending on the size of your rear tire.

You need to choose for looks, hardtail, or comfort, softail. If you want more information about what kind of frame you want for your chopper kit, you’ve got to read one of Billy Lane’s books called: Billy Lane’s How to Build Old School Choppers, Bobbers, and Customs. It’s an excellent guide to get you new ideas. Get your copy now!
