TULSA, OK — Myers-Duren Harley Davidson on Peoria recently offered test rides of their 2009 motorcycles. Several women were among those eager to twist the throttle on these flashy new machines.
“Women just want to have fun. Girls just want to have fun. Girls want to ride. Girls want to learn to ride,” said Sherry Strong with Myers-Duren.
In fact women are buying more Harleys than ever, up from 8% to 12% of Harley riders in just the past five years, thanks to targeted marketing and courses in riding offered at Harley dealerships across the country.
“I love it. A lot of women are asking me, ‘is it fun?’” said rider Kathy Haltom. “I say ‘yes it’s fun, lots and lots of fun.’”
